I currently work as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at Google in Mountain View.
I work with some of the cool technology they've developed.

Research Interests (not necessarily job/google related):

• High-speed network protocols, including high-performance IP and TCP.
• Operating system internals (especially Linux) and optimization.
• Security and anonymity, for freedom to use the tools we create.
• Art, graphics, and computer vision. See my media page.

Previous employment:

• I used to be a Graduate Student Researcher (GSR, aka RA) with the Concurrent Systems Architecture Group in the Computer Science and Engineering Department at the University of California- San Diego.
• I was an intern and later a contractor with Shannon Lab at AT&T; here's the Intern Guide.
• Before that I worked for the RADIANT team in CCS-1: Advanced Computing at Los Alamos National Lab as a Technical Staff Member (TSM) and later as a Visiting Scientist.
• And long long ago I was at the Space Science and Engineering Center at The University of Wisconsin as a student hourly.
